about 4500 years ago. The enormous tombs were built to protect the pharaoh’s
body and worldly treasures from grave robbers, as well as to show how powerful
and wealthy he had been. The body needed to be preserved, they believed, for a

The enormous structures were built using only the simplest
of tool. Many of the huge limestone blocks used in construction were cut from nearby
quarries using copper chisels and saws. Some blocks were brought from across
the Nile River, and others from even further away, an amazing feat considering
that the wheel had not yet been invented. No wonder the pyramids rank as one of

Pyramid. Its base covers an area of about 5 hectares, with each side measuring
229 meters in length. Over two million blocks of stone, each about 90

Junior High School 2 Purwokerto is one of the favorite school in Banyumas Regency with complete facilities that support learning activity. Junior High School 2 Purwokerto is one of many Junior High Schools in Banyumas Regency. Junior High School 2 Purwokerto located at Jalan Gereja number 20 Purwokerto. This school is also one of two RSBI Junior High Schools in Banyumas. There are about 600 students studies in this school. In 9th grade, there are 192 students, in 8th and 7th grade there are 200 students each grade. Each class of 9th grade consist of about 24 students and both of 8th and 7th grade are about 25 students.
The students enter this school by passed kinds of hard test. First, they have to do the written test and spoken test. The written and spoken tests in JHS 2 Purwokerto are much harder than test in the other school. That’s why, a lot of students in JHS 2 Purwokerto are smart. Not only the enter test but also the subject are harder than the other school.
In this school, mostly the students and teachers use English language not only as daily language but also for teaching and learning activities. The “one and only” thing from the students of this school is they’re taught to be polite with everyone by greet them every time they meet especially for older person. In 2007/2008 Junior High School 2 Purwokerto trusted by Directorate General of Primary and Secondary Education to implement programs RSBI and now Junior High School 2 Purwokerto is the most favorite school in Purwokerto.
JHS 2 Purwokerto building still in development and repair process of facilities for inceasing famfortable during study with LCD, fan, and Air Conditioner. JHS 2 Purwokerto consist of 24 classrooms and many laboratories, and 3 yard.
With the RSBI program, English language used during study and when breakafter study in the class. Except in the Thursday use Javanese language because of new rule from Banyumas region. Teachers and the student also apply disipline.

SMP N 2 Purwokerto is a one of favorite schools in Banyumas. As the school with international basis, it must have more facilities than others.
There are many facilities at this school, and two of the most popular facilities are library and canteen. Not only them, but also there are other facilities, such as football field, basket field, and also Wi-fi connection. Now, we will classify one by one.
The first is main field. Main field is located in the center of school. It usually used for flag ceremony and badminton exercise. There are 11 class rooms surrounding it. There are other fields again, they are basket field and football field. Basket field is located across from teacher room, while football field is located behind the school. There is a river besides it.
Then, in each class there are Air Conditioner, fan, white board, electric sockets, LCD layer, and also TV. We can also open the network using Wi-Fi connection. There are six Wi-Fi connection, they are smpn2office, smp2pwt, kantinsmp2, smp2perpus, Guru, and smp2lab_bawah.

In this school there are three grade, each grade consist of 8 class (A until H). Student of SMP 2 is a smart student because to study at there we must join a selection test.
The facility in this school is very make us comfortable. Such as, class with AC and LCD, canteen with HotSpot. The sport facility is too complete for basketball, volley ball,foot ball, etc. Student can show her art creativity likes Yogiswari Chandra Permani who winning an art competition. Hasibuana Laras and Defiska Andang is join LCC (Lomba Cerdas Cermat) and they are win it. SMP 2 is the right place to show our talent.
The last mounth of September, some student and theacher of Sinampeung School, Bangkok, Thailand came to SMPN 2 Purwokerto to join exchange student progam. Because this school has become RSBI since 2006. And this school has a lot of differences with other school in Banyumas Regency, such as the facilities and the students.

School is an institution where children studying under the direction of teachers. In this case, there are two kinds on this country, the formal education and non-formal education. Formal education is placed right under the influence of Education Ministry wether it’s the curiculum, nor the funds. And non-formal education is education where typically not formally recognized. But, this two kinds education is increased to another level by RSBI education. RSBI is formal education programm of a school which is haven’t fullfilling the National Standard of Education.
In Banyumas Regency there are many RSBI school, but none of them is likely Junior High School 2 Purwokerto. How come? Well, ‘cause, this school is the first RSBI generation school on this regency and of course, many school will be a competitior for us. The school which is located on Gereja Street number 20, have been become RSBI school since 2007, on their 57 anniversary. And it’s the right choice of Directorate General of Primary and Secondary Education to gave the RSBI to JHS 2, because this school can develop many student in their own excellence.
For example the classroom which is have 24-25 students . Actually this situation make the teacher can easily to handle pupils and the students are more competitive. And this class situation is rare on the other schools in Banyumas, with number of students in a classroom averages 30-40 students. The lesson on this school is one level higher than any other school, with english as dialy introductory language. And then, in terms of facility, JHS 2 Purwokerto with RSBI label, of course have much more excess compared to another school with RSBI label. The excesses of this school’s facility is, almost every class have AC, LCD, fans, speakers information, vast canteen, and good wided area of WLAN or wireless internet.

SMP Negeri 2 Purwokerto is one of the favorite school in Banyumas regency. Because of the teachers SMP Negeri 2 could get the first rank of UN 2011/2012 in Banyumas.
There are about 50 teachers in SMP Negeri 2 Purwokerto. They devided into 12 lesson and every teachers have their own characteristic. The different of their characteristic like an earth and the sky. There is the killer teachers and friendly teachers.
Every Monday morning they follow the flag ceremony like their students. Sometimes they can do a meeting suddenly to discuss about the event that will be held in SMP Negeri 2 Purwokerto. It can makes the students feel happy and free. They also stand up in front of Meja Piket to greet the students one by one. At 6.50am they go to teacher’s room to get motivation from the principal and pray together for fluency in teaching that day.
Just now, SMP Negeri 2 Purwokerto get some additional teacher from UMP (Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto) they are about 10 teachers. They help the 7 and 8 grade teachers to teaching the students.

SMP N 2 Purwokerto has a lot of facilities in order to comfort and helpful the student. These are some facilities : canteen, toilet, auditorium, laboratory, classroom, field, Wifi area, mosque library and there are so many.
The first facilities will describe is canteen. The located is in behind of the school and near mosque. Canteen in SMP N 2 PWT is like in American’s canteen and have Hotspot area. In there is always crowded of student but comfortable.
Auditorium. It located in upstairs of headmaster’s room. Auditorium is place for some certain agenda such as : parents meeting, socialization, and certain other agenda.
Laboratory is one of facilities in SMP N 2 Purwokerto. Laboratory has many kind such : English Languange laboratory, Physics Laboratory, and Biology Laboratory.All laboratory of course have function to make easier the student in studying.
Wifi Area. In SMP N 2 Purwokerto have a few point that have a Wifi area like : Library, Canteen. This facilties is realy useful to student to browsing many learning thing.
Library. It located in north of school. Beside the library there’s a built a few class. In the library have many kind of book like such : fiction, knowledge, story book and a few magazines.usually some student come to library at first or second break time.

FACILITIES IN SMP N 2 Purwokerto
A huge facility can improve student’s quality. Like in the common school, SMP 2 Purwokerto also provides so many facilities that can let everyone come to enjoy the marvelous of this school. Facilities in the school are so complete so that the students feel enjoy teaching-learning activity.
From the front part until the back of the school and from side to side in this school one can find all of qualified facilities in the whole area of the school. But some parts in this school are commonly contained in the common school. Such as, an auditorium to conduct some kind of meeting, counseling room for the students to get counsel and guidance from the teachers, staff room, principle room, twenty four classrooms, bicycle garage, toilets, OSIS room and scout ware. There is also a Mosque, the most important place for the moslem to pray, two ICT rooms, a linguistic room, also a library which is completed with AC and the floor covered with red carpet make the students enjoy reading many collections of books -the new or old one- cozily. The school also completed with some fields, like field ceremony which can be used as badminton field, a basketball field which can be used as tennis field, and a volley field in a soccer field.
Besides those common things, the students can also use some different thing compared with other general school. A fabulous canteen with a clean condition makes the customers get a good appetite while enjoying some foods from 4 food stands. Another canteen is honesty canteen. There, the students can pay the thing the students buy and get the change by themselves. Karawitan room, contained with Javanese traditional instrument. And Wi Fi, every students should have used this thing to do the task or just browsing the internet.
Teaching-learning activity is very interesting because supported by good qualified teachers and the equipment’s. In every class all the thing students do will be recorded with a CCTV. The students also look really comfortable because they enjoy the best atmosphere there with an AC and two nice fans. The teaching-learning activity also propped by an LCD Projector. A weird thing is in every class is completed by an antique TV. Almost the students feel disappointed with the TV because it is never used.
Everyone should understand that SMPN 2 Purwokerto has compatible facilities because of its title, RSBI. Those facilities are not only used to attract the parents to force their children to study there, but also to improve students’ quality in order to prepare their future to be able to compete in throughout the world.

The Super Facilities
Facilities in the school are the important factor to increase the quality of doing study. In our school, SMP 2 Purwokerto it has been done complete. For example, the buildings, the canteen, the library,the bathrooms, laboratoriums, hall, etc. Several facilities in our school are already good, but the others, like the bathrooms, is still dirty and unpleasant.
There are about 15 bathrooms in our school. All of them consider new, but the condition is unsuitable when we use it. And the water is a little dirty and there is no any hanger in that bathroom, soap, and freshener.
Our school has a large enough canteen. And the canteen has many chairs and tables for the students who will eat their snack there. Because the distance between the classroom and the canteen is quite far. But in the canteen, the food that is sold by the foodseller is only snack and rames. There is no food like burger, meatball, chicken noodle, and many more. So we, as the student here easy to get bored because of it. Then, when all student go to the canteen at break time, there are many student that want to buy some food and they want to get the food fastly. While, at the time many student want the same service but the seller is just one or two.
And the library more nice than before. For example, in the past, there is no chair and table for the student who will read the book there, but now, we can read the books in there. And when we want to borrow some books, it easier than before. And the books in the library is more complete. But in the other hand, the library has some negative points. For example, the library is open too late, at about 07.30 a.m, so, we can’t borrow some book for study activity in the morning.
For the laboratorium, especially ICT laboratorium, has computer that unsuitable to use in study activity, because the computer is full of virus, and there is no electricity enough to turn on the computer, or when the students use it, the computer will turn off suddenly. So, we must gather with the other student.
The new buildings are great and awesome. It looks like an exclusive building, because of the color (grey). But, there are some buildings haven’t finished yet. So there are some classes that disturbed by the sound of the construction. Yeah, but it is the risk. To get super facilities we must make a sacrifice.
The super facilities are needed by some school. But, it can’t show the achievement of that school.

Our Activities
Junior High School 2 Purwokerto is one of favorite schools in Purwokerto. Many people want to be students there.
Activities in Junior High School 2 Purwokerto are not different than other schools. But, there are a special activity like photography, journalistic, English conversation, Tennis, Karawitan, Volley, and OSN (Olympiad Science National), which are usually held on around 01.30 pm until 03.00 p.m. There are also extracurriculars which are held on 03.00 pm until 04.30 pm like basketball and football.
Besides the extracurricular, some activities are conducted by the students like class meeting after Final Test. The class meeting is a competition between classmates such as basketball competition, football competition, badminton competition, volley ball competition, poetry competition, and other.
On empty lesson, the teachers give the students a worksheet, and the students do it. When the worksheet has been done, they play games on notebook, listen to music, watch movie on notebook and talk about their story.
Previously, there was a moving class activity. In this activity, the students must find the class for certain lesson. In the moving class, the school has decided that one class is for one lesson. But now, the activity has been stopped because it makes terrible accident such as the missing of the student’s items, unclean classroom, and reducing hour lesson. Moreover, there is a renovation of some classrooms.
In order to add student’s knowledge about hajj, the school carries out a special activity namely “ Manasik Haji “ once a year. In the Manasik Haji, the students must wear ikhram clothes and conducted the rituals of hajj.
There are also additional hours that will begin on 5th November 2012, for preparation of the National Examination. Not only grade 9 but also grade 7 and 8 will get additional hours. They must prepare for Final Test. But, it will begin on 12th November 2012.

Marvelous Teachers
There are many objects that can we discuss about Junior High School 2 Purwokerto. But, we will tell you about the teachers of Junior High School 2 Purwokerto. About how they teach us, their excess, and others.
At JHS 2 Purwokerto, there are 47 teachers from 14 subjects that have different character. they are good, ferociously, friendly, humorist, and so on . When they teach us, their characters always appear. Like, if he is humorist, he will make a joke interrupted in the learning. So, we will not feel bored or drowsy. Although he is humorist, he will be adamant if the student makes a big mistake.
Teachers that are teaching math, physics, biology, and ICT, must teach us with English. So, they are good in English, but not as good as English teachers. Teachers in JHS 2 Purwokerto Not only can speak English, but also have another excess like can play guitars, drum, singing, dancing, etc.
Teacher in JHS 2 Purwokerto can scant our school with their excess. They can make cooperation not only with another schools in Indonesia, but also schools in Asia. They can bring students of Sinampeung School -JHS in Thailand- into our school and some students of JHS 2 Purwokerto come to their school. It is one of program at RSBI schools in Indonesia, that we can call Sister School. And one of our teacher, she has gone to Australia. She was to be a winner in a competition and it made she got a chance to study in Australia.
So, how marvelous our teachers? They have done their task zealously. And, we must do like our teacher to make our school become the first International School in Purwokerto.

Various Activities in Junior High School 2 Purwokerto
Like in the other school, activities in junior high school 2 Purwokerto are not only in the academic field but also in non-academic field. As for in the academic filed like Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM). Teaching and Learning Activities is a activity between the students and teachers to exchange the knowledges. In theory and practice. More than 10 subjects are studied by students in a week. A subject reaches 1-3 an hour lesson, it consists of 45 minutes. In Teaching and Learning Activities, the students of Junior High School 2 Purwokerto demand to be an active students.
Usually on Fridays in the first hour lesson, the students do the activities such as clean the classroom, jalan sehat, gymnastic in the morning.
For the 7th and 8th grade are provided by school in various extracurricular in Junior High School 2 Purwokerto divides into 2 field there are academic and non academic. In academis extracurricular, Junior High School 2 Purwokerto always be a winner in every event like OSN and KIR. Whereas non academic extracurricular like football, basketball, volleyball, ensembel music,vocal, traditional dance, journalistic, photograph, table tennis, badminton, and scout.
For 9th grade students focuses to face National Exam. So, they must leave all of extracurricular they have joined and do the additional lessons.
Recently, all students of 7th and 8th grade must join the additional lessons to face the semester exam.

Junior High School 2 Purwokerto, A School that We are Looking for
Junior High School 2 Purwokerto is one of the favorite schools in Banyumas regency. Because it is RSBI school, JHS 2 Purwokerto should have sufficient facilities.
JHS 2 Purwokerto has 3 fields. First field is main field. Usually used for flag ceremony. Second field is a basketball court. Third field is football court. It is usually used to play football, volley, etc. The other facilities are a large canteen, cooperation / honesty canteen, hotspot area, toilets, parking place that safe and convenient. JHS 2 Purwokerto has 24 classrooms, a principal room, a teacher room, school hall, library, school health unit, guidance and counseling room, lab (physics, biology, English, and ICT), etc. In every class has facilities like 24-25 tables and chairs, AC, LCD, CCTV, 2 fans, and speaker. Library of JHS 2 Purwokerto is one of the favorite places for some students, because it’s so comfortable for reading. There is a reading room and more facilities.
This is a school that we are looking for.

Various Kinds of Outstanding and Useful Facilities in SMP 2 Purwokerto
SMP 2 Purwokerto is one of Junior High School with the RSBI status and still be the best in Banyumas regency. Along the progress of education quality, technological development, and maturity of human resources, the facilities which are owned by a school must also evolve, so does SMP 2 Purwokerto. With the support facilities can realize the vision and mision, and also the motto of SMP 2 Purwokerto “Together We Develop For A Bright Future” will become real.
From the various facilities which are provided, some of them must be owned by each school, like SMP 2 Purwokerto, because they are very important, such as, a package of Guest and the Principal’s rooms that fulfilled by a lot of honorable trophies and awards, an Administration space which handles the administrative matters, a Guidance Counseling room, an Auditorium as the venue for the meeting, Teacher’s room, Photocopy room, and a Flag Ceremony field.
SMP 2 Purwokerto also has comfortable and comprehensive teaching-learning facilities with the RSBI standard. They are looked in every classroom which are equipped with LCD Projector that used by the teachers in teaching-learning activity, CCTV which is controlled in the Principal’s room to oversee all students activities, and combined with an AC that will make the students feel at home to follow a series of ‘8x40-minute’ lessons in the school.
The skill and creativity of the students in the field of academic, non-academic, and organizational management can be developed through many extracuricular activities and school organizations by using facilities which are provided, like: several Laboratories (Physics, Biology, ICT & Multimedia, Languages, Social) are completed with the props, some Sports field (Football, Basketball, Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball, etc.), Art room that filled with art works and tunable Javanese and modern musical instruments, an OSIS room, Scout Ware, and a peaceful wide size and red carpet-based library as the place to borrow or just read the various remarkable books.
The other facilities are School Health Unit, Musholla and the Wudlu spot, several spacious parking areas, a fancy and clean condition canteen that provides a variety of good diet, Honesty Canteen and Cooperation to train the student’s honesty, many spotless and sterile toilets that can make students feel comfy when urinating or defecating.
About very special and most favored facilities, there are: Hotspot Areas which are installed in some spots and very helpful to help complete the school assignments or just browsing the internet. Coupled with some of the clear water fish ponds, and a beautiful garden to calm the student’s brain.
With the support facilities will surely be able to change the most foolish assumption that RSBI schools are mercenary, but there are plenty of evidence that RSBI schools, especially SMP 2 Purwokerto, that can build quality and quantity in balance for the realization of the international competitiveness and in order to make a vitrous person.

What’s Your Mind About Students of SMP 2 Purwokerto?
SMP 2 Purwokerto is one of favorite schools in Purwokerto, Banyumas, Central Java that has got International Standard since 2004. Many childs who has graduated from Elementary School want to join in SMP 2 Purwokerto because SMP 2 Purwokerto has successed to graduate 9th grade students with great result and make their teachers satisfy.
In SMP 2 Purwokerto there is 24 class. Each grade has 8 class. In every class has 25 students. Its mean, in 7th grade there are 8 class named 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e, 7f, 7g, and 7h that has 25 students each class. Then in 8th grade there are 8 class named 8a, 8b, 8c, 8d, 8e, 8f, 8g, 8h that also has 25 students each class. So, each in 7th and 8th grade has 200 students. But especially in 9th grade there is last generation of Immersion class. Same with 7th and also 8th grade, 9th grade also has 8 classes named 9a until 9h. But 9a and 9b are called Immersion class.
Immersion class is a class that uses English more than regular class. If in regular class just use English for 3 subject, such as Mathematics, Science, and ICT in Immersion we use English for 5 subject, like Mathematics, Science, ICT, Art and Culture and also Social.
Students of SMP 2 Purwokerto are students that have characteristic, that are smart, neat and also international outlook.
Students of SMP 2 Purwokerto are smart, is it right? Yes, of course. Students of SMP 2 have filtered when the first time joined test. From almost a thousand children’s who registered, just 200 students who can be students of SMP 2 Purwokerto. And, many of them can being a deputy of SMP 2 Purwokerto and win the competition. That make SMP 2 Purwokerto being a great, famous and also favorite school in Banyumas. So, we can conclude if students of SMP 2 Purwokerto are smart.
Students of SMP 2 Purwokerto are neat, how can you know? Let us tell you. Why students of SMP 2 can be called neat students, the reason is in SMP 2 the teachers always teach us how to be a neat student. How can we dressed-up so can look like a neat and great student, what must we do if we meet a teacher and old person, and also how we are speaking.

Students of SMP 2 Purwokerto are a dilligent student.
The students in SMP 2 Purwokerto are really talented. We must study hard if we want to be students of SMP 2 Purwokerto. So, students in SMP 2 Purwokerto are a smart and dilligent students. They have their own talented. SMP 2 Purwokerto be the first rank in Banyuman because the students. And SMP 2 Purwokerto also be a favorite school. And students in SMP 2 Purwokerto have to be able to speak english well. Learning from the Students
School, everywhere, must have teachers as its main component. And so Junior High School 2 Purwokerto.
As the RSBI (Piloting School International Standard), the quality of its teacher also involve in development and image of the school they’re in. Most of the teachers should have been graduated from master degree, it means that they should be probably fluent in English.
The fact, most teachers in Junior High School 2 Purwokerto haven’t reached that degree yet. They also couldn’t pronounce English well, even the students do it better. However although the teachers are learning from their student, they have no difficulties in giving the materials. Mathematics, Biology, Physics, should be explained with English. They give their students handout, so that the students can understand it because sometimes they also speak Indonesian too.
The International Standard’s teachers also have to master IT. So do here, most of them usually use laptop and LCD. That’s the things that make them different with general teacher in general school. By mastering IT, the students and the teachers could understand more about the materials because they can interact both at school and by internet or they can interact not only at school but also via internet. Nevertheless, they can download and read more information in internet. So, their knowledge is wide enough.
Almost all the teachers of Junior High School 2 Purwokerto have cellphone and also account in social media like Facebook. It makes the students easier to ask the material they don’t understand.
About the rule, some of the teachers don’t obey it. For example, they should come before seven o’clock in the morning, just like their students. But the fact, we still find a lot of teachers that just arrived at school fifteen minutes later or more. And when they have a duty to watch the students do their test honestly, we find a lot of teachers intentionally leave the room. Even though some of them, unluckily, support cheating process.
Well, generally, the qualities of Junior High School 2 Purwokerto’s teachers are good enough because the fluency of education process runs well. It has proved by the achievement of students both in national and province level. Like dancing contest, karate, singing contest, science olympiad, etc.
